Graphic Design and Digital Media

  For this tutorial project I created the sun, stars, and text within the photo in Adobe Photoshop. To do this I used the text tool and adjusted the effects by changing the drop shadow and the stroke options. Next I created the stars. I used the star shape found in the shapes folder but adjusted it with the custom shape tool. For the sun I used the elliptical tool to create the shape and I used the gradient tool to adjust the color.   Below is a design I made using the same tools and skills that I used above for the Great American West project. This is an advertisement for an Eggnog Movie Night for the campus community.      

       For this project I used Adobe photoshop to outline an image of my classmate. I used the pencil brush tool along with the eraser tool to draw this image. I played around with the opacity of the background image to see the sketch more easily as I was drawing. It turned out better than I thought it would!

         An interview was conducted through email by some students at Davis & Elkins College to learn a little bit about the Pittsburg Pirates Creative Department. In this interview, one of the most interesting responses to me was how they keep their content fresh and entertaining for their audience. The response talked about how they keep up with other new designs on sites such as " designspiration.net or dribble.com" to keep their inspirations high and enhance their creative flow. I think it's smart to observe what other creators are doing if you're in a mental block with ideas and inspiration.      Another response that I though was interesting is how many jobs are done within the Pirates' Creative Department. They have a wide variety of products they design and create that stretch from prints all the way across the spectrum to motion graphics.
